Richard Cloud’s Adopted 66 Mustang
I moved from Hallet, Oklahoma, to Mustang, Oklahoma, in 2004. Being retired for several years, I wanted to join an organization that would be fun and have a lot of activity. My stepson Steve [Hendrix] started bringing me to the O.M.C. meetings, and I knew I had found what I was looking for so I joined the Oklahoma Mustang Club. After attending a few car shows, my son Roger suggested that I show his 1966 Mustang Coupe which was restored by Steve and Roger. I had always shown cattle and never shown a car before. With a little instruction and help from my son Steve, I showed the car for the first time at the 2005 Western Days O.M.C. Mustang and Open Car Show. For my first time out I brought home a 2nd place trophy in the M.C.A. Concours Driven Class. Since that time, we have been to Joe Cooper Ford Show and Shine where I enjoyed showing off this beauty. We have been fixing the little things that will make it better to show and drive. We have cured a heating problem and plan taking it on a long road trip. Although this car is adopted, I consider it mine. “Good luck, Roger”, if you think you’re going to take it back and show it!.............Now you have heard the rest of the story.
