Brenda's 2002 Mustang

My car is a 2000 Mustang Coupe with Atlantic Metallic Blue paint. I acquired my Mustang by having a midlife
crisis when I turned 52 years old. I had a 1996 Dodge Intrepid when my mother was still alive and I needed
a car that had four doors so I could tote my mother and father around when they were in town. My mother
passed away in 1997 and so when April came around, I needed to get rid of the four door and come down to a
two door. Saturday before Easter in 2002, my husband and I went around to start test-driving Mustangs at surrounding
dealerships. We went to various dealerships, but found the Atlantic, Metallic Blue Mustang at Klement
Ford, which is now Joe Cooper Ford of Shawnee. So I guess you can say that the Easter Bunny came and gave me
my Easter present early in the shape of a giant blue egg.
I drove my car for about a year and then I saw that one of our club members had some vinyl striping done on
his Emerald Green Mustang. I thought it looked fantastic and considered it for my Mustang. So my husband and
I went to Monte’s and talked over some colors with him that would look good on my car. We came up with a solution
that Silver Metallic would look the best on my car. I had it put around the car and on top of the hood. I
also had my “Mustang” lettering done in the same vinyl and the striping is all one piece when put on. In 2003 I
bought new wheels and tires for my car. The wheels are 2003 SVT Cobra “R” 17x9 all the way around and the
tires are P275/40ZR17 Goodyear Tires. The taillights are Euro Chrome Taillights from APC (American Products
Company). My husband took the plastic molding from the area of the side scoops and the hood scoop and took a
silver paint fabric pen sanded them down and painted them to match the striping. The engine is a stock 3.8 liter
V-6 with no modifications, but does have Chrome Strut tower covers that my son bought for me. The interior is
stock with blue Pony seatbelt pads and Billet A/C knobs.
My Mustang has won numerous 1st and 2nd place awards and other awards for me and I enjoy hanging out
with my fellow Oklahoma Mustang Club Members talking about the only surviving muscle car that is still trotting
hard for years to come.
Future items for my Mustang are some more Billet Accessories for the interior and a Cold Air Intake from
MAC Performance when the warranty runs out.
