For quite some time Bill Henson kept bugging me to get a Mustang and join the Mustang Club. To get him off my back I told him if he could find me one cheap enough I would consider doing it. Well later I was to find that I shouldn't have told him that. He takes to a challenge like fleas to a dog. One Saturday morning he told me to come go with him he wanted to show me something. Well he took me to see a car. When I first looked at it I just shook my head. The top was in rags and the top end of the motor was in the back seat. It really needed a lot of work. Again I was just shaken my head. Then the owner told me he wanted $250.00 for the car. Well then I saw the car in a whole different light. The rest is as they say history. But I was soon to find the initial purchase is sometimes the easiest part. If I was paid by the hour I would have several thousand dollars invested. As you know you can't count the hours just the pleasure it bring working on the car. And the results from the work. I have have made several improvements and now have about $2500 in the car. Most of the parts and other items have been purchased on a trade out basis. Most all the Mechanical work has been done by a very good friend (Steve Sanders). I still have a long ways to go to have the car in top shape but it is my daily driver and I really enjoy driving it. Some day I plan to make a real show car out of it but as for now I want my toy and the pleasure of driving it everyday. The moral of this story is be careful what you tell people to get them off your back. I hate to but I have to say "THANKS" Bill.
