Lee Emford and his 97 "Wild Colt" Mustang
On Monday December 16, 1996, I purchased a beautiful 97 Mustang from Fred Jones Ford in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
It is "Pacific Green" in color, was manufactured at Dearborn, Michigan on November 15, 1996.
It was
delivered
to Oklahoma City by rail. It has medium graphite cloth interior.
It contains a 3.8 EFI engine, V-6, with the "Preferred Equipment" package, to include a
4-speed automatic overdrive transmission. "Colt" delivers 21-22 MPG in the city and
31-34 MPG on the highway.
"Colt" also came with the "Sports Appearance Group", which includes leather wrapped steering wheel,
real spoiler, 15 inch polished cast aluminum wheels, front floor mats, anti theft system, defroster rear window, and
white accent stripe on both sides. "Colt" was also delivered
with tinted glass. I had the car undercoated and also have added white "Mustang" lettering on the real bumper and a small
white running pony to each of the doors.
This has been a fine mustang. It is daily transportation and has won 2nd place awards at both Green Country
and Eureka Springs
Mustang shows. I keep this Mustang exceptionally clean. It is washed every week or two and the motor is
whipped
down and cleaned
at the same time. "Colt" share's a stable with a fully restored 67 Mustang Fastback (Filly) and a fully
restored 86 Forld XLT Lariat, F-150 Pickup,
"Henry". I love Ford products
and I love the excitement of a Mustang. "Colt" loves to run the Oklahoma prarie.
